After starting my career as a scientific glassblower in Staffordshire, I moved to the North East of England in the early 1990s to pursue a role in the Semiconductor industry. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I returned to Staffordshire and turned my passion for photography into a profession, initially focusing on studio work. A few years later, I noticed a significant gap in the school and nursery photography market, where schools were still offering the same old, generic one-shot photos. I decided to fill this gap by offering high-quality, studio-style portraits at affordable school and nursery prices. 23 years later, I’m proud to still provide schools and nurseries across Staffordshire and surrounding areas with a service that is second to none in terms of quality and customer care.
A big part of my success comes from the fact that I’m not a large company with multiple salespeople or unqualified photographers. As a professionally qualified photographer who works alone, I can offer a flexible, efficient, and personal service, making sure that photography days run smoothly and stress-free. Over the years, I’ve photographed thousands of children, each with their own unique personalities. Knowing how to engage even the shyest or most reluctant child is a skill that only comes with experience.
My wife Ange and I are proud parents of two incredible kids: Danny, 24, who’s built his own embroidery and printing business from the ground up, and Abi, 21, who’s about to graduate with a degree in graphic design after her final year at university.
When I’m not working on school or nursery shoots, I enjoy staying active through running and cycling. As a passionate landscape photographer, I also love hiking with my wife and two boxer dogs in some of the UK’s most beautiful spots, including the Peak District, Lake District, and Snowdonia.
